Outreach Activities

There are several ways that individuals can stay informed about the study’s progress and to share comments and insights. Public input received will be considered by the study team. The County wants to develop a project that not only meets the transportation needs of the Hancock Lone Palm Road area but is also supported by the community it is intended to serve. The key outreach activities are described below.

Persons who require language translation or interpretive services, which are provided at no cost, should contact Yvette Best, Orange County Title VI/Nondiscrimination coordinator, at 407-836-5825 or yvette.best@ocf.net at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.

Persons requiring special accommodations under the American with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) may request assistance from Nicola Norton, County ADA coordinator, at 407-836-6568 or nicola.norton@ocf.net at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.

Additional information can be found on the Orange County Title VI and Accessibility webpages.

Study Newsletters

A study newsletter will be created for the Hancock Lone Palm Road Study. Four editions will be prepared, and each edition will provide information on the study’s progress and announce upcoming meetings. Please check back for links to the newsletters. To be added to the corridor mailing list please fill and submit the contact form on the Share your Thoughts page.

Newsletters will be distributed by creating a corridor mailing list that encompasses the study area and includes property owners, tenants, project stakeholders, agency staff, and elected and appointed officials.

Newsletters will be emailed to individuals with email addresses. For those individuals without an email address and for adjacent property owners, newsletters will be mailed via U.S. postal service. As email addresses are received through comments submitted through this website or through meeting sign-in sheets, the project team will include you in future project information releases.

Public Meetings

There will be two public community meetings during this study. After these community meetings, the study recommendations will be presented to the Orange County Local Planning Agency (LPA)/Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC), and the Orange County Board of County Commissioners. Information regarding the dates and times of each meeting will be posted here, along with the meeting materials.

Public Community Meetings
Two community meetings will be held during the study at locations near the Hancock Lone Palm Road study area. The first meeting was held on  February 19th 2025. The purpose of Meeting # 2 is to present the study recommendation of the preferred improvement alternative to the public for review and comment prior to the presentation to the Local Planning Agency and Board of County Commissioners. Each community meeting will be publicly noticed at least two (2) weeks before the meeting date through the study newsletter (mailings and emails), newspaper advertisements (Orlando Sentinel and El Sentinel), study website, and County press releases.
